About Trade Tax Desk
Trade Tax Desk is run by an anonymous operator who reads IRS forms line by line. There is no named host, no photo, and no persona — the site's credibility is its sourcing discipline, not a biography.
Not a CPA or EA
This is education, not tax advice. I'm not a CPA or EA. State taxes are not covered. This site is education only: it reads what IRS text says, and does not give personal tax advice, filing services, CPA referrals, or personal consultation.
How articles are sourced
- Rule 01Every number, line, and deadline in an article traces to an IRS document, its tax year, the line or page, and the date it was checked — the source table is published at the foot of every article.
- Rule 02IRS originals outrank everything else. If a claim cannot be verified on the primary source, it is not published.
- Rule 03When a form for the tax year is still a draft, the article says so: "IRS draft as of [date]" appears in the article and on its figures.
- Rule 04Each article carries a "Form status / Last checked" line and an update log. When a final form posts or a number changes, the article is updated in place with a dated note — old figures are never silently overwritten.
- Rule 05Each article contains one worked example, calculated start to finish with that job's hypothetical numbers, reserved to that article.
Scope
The site covers first-time self-employment / Schedule C filers in six jobs: real estate agent, owner-operator truck driver, solo creator, freelance designer / consultant, marketplace seller, and booth/suite hairstylist & barber. State taxes are not covered.
